Este fue el argumento de venta que hace uno años más me sorprendió por parte de la marcas asiáticas emergentes por aquel entonces. HYUNDAI ofrece 5 años y KIA llega hasta los 7, lo que no está mal, teniendo en cuenta que la segunda es una marca hermana de la primera...
Me he liado con la introducción, sin deciros el modelo del coche protagonista de hoy, pero es que como no ha acertado nadie...

Pues a ver por donde empiezo, ¿Por lo bueno, lo mejor, o lo sorprendente? ... como os podréis imaginar, el coche, a grandes rasgos, me ha gustado, pero voy a empezar por lo decepcionante, que es una vez más, cuando hablo de coches de la última hornada, la seguridad.
No puedo comprender la no presencia de un radar anti-colisión urbano. Ya sé que soy muy pesado con éste asunto en particular, pero, de verdad, el día que lo probéis, estaréis de acuerdo conmigo.
Realmente, se salvan del desconocimiento del cliente para vender estos coches, pues en caso de saberlo, tampoco entendería cómo alguien puede comprar este modelo frente a otro equivalente que sí equipe esa función.

Con esta salvedad, que no es menor, el resto de las características del coche me parecen acertadas y suficientemente bien llevadas a la realidad, con una calidad percibida al nivel de su competencia alemana.
De hecho, no es sólo la calidad percibida en lo que se parece a los modelos germanos. Realmente me ha parecido un calco del tacto VW-Skoda. Espectacular. Si fuese posible circular doscientos metros con los ojos cerrados, salvo por el modo de accionar todos los mandos, los del volante, las palancas y los de la consola, cualquiera creo que podría confundirlo con uno de aquellos (Fabia o Polo, sin ir más lejos), el tacto del volante, el de la palanca de cambio... lo que, desde luego, es para nota.
Realmente la sensación es la de un coche mayor de lo que realmente es, pero el confort de marcha y sus reacciones son de matrícula de honor en este segmento.
En cuanto a los motores, pues que voy a decir con los motores pequeños tricilindricos diesel y gasolina de 1,25 (una cilindrada que recuerda aquellos Ford Fiesta de hace 10 años...) y potencias en el rango bajo del mercado, (75-90CV en diesel y 85-100CV en gasolina...) pues cumplen suficientemente con su cometido de vehículo urbano, con bastante alegría a decir verdad, sobre todo los gasolina.

Ahora bien, el mercado está muy apretado, en cuanto a calidad y sobre todo en cuanto a precio. Bajo mi punto de vista, el que se lleva el gato al agua en estos momentos, es, o bien el más barato, o bien el que ofrece más por menos... o en el peor de los casos, más por lo mismo.
Y ahí es donde puede estar el problema para este i20, en un sector con tantos competidores, no puedes no tener algo que los demás si tienen, porque te llevan al cliente... el dichoso radar anti-colisión, una cámara de visión trasera, un acceso y arranque sin llave... y me estoy quedando en el uso diario y en el ámbito puramente urbano... y ya sé que está muy bien de maletero, y seguramente de consumos... pero yo personalmente, prefiero que mi coche mida 5 cms más, tenga más maletero y por tener una cámara de marcha atrás, lo aparque infinitamente con más facilidad que uno 5cm más corto... y por el mismo precio.
Y no, no me he olvidado de los 5 años de garantía con los que empecé el post. Un argumento, desde luego fantástico, que demuestra la confianza que tienes en tu producto, pero para que alguien la disfrute (la garantía), antes, tienes que convencerlo de que te compren.

Well, lets see where do I start, with the good, the better, or the surprising points? ... As you can imagine, the car, broadly speaking, I liked it, but I'll start with little disappointment, it is again, when I talk about cars last batch, active security.
I can not understand the non-presence of an urban anti-collision radar. I know I'm boring with this particular issue, but, really, the day you´ll try it, you will agree with me.
Actually, saved from ignorance of the customer to sell these cars, because if known, nor understand how anyone can buy this model versus its equivalent equiped with that function.
Fine interior, confortable and sensible...
With this matter, that is not less, the rest of the car's features seem accurate and sufficiently well carried away, with a perceived quality at the level of its German competition.
In fact, not only is the quality perceived in what looks like the Germans models, actually I found a replica of touch VW-Skoda, but spectacular, really with my eyes closed, if possible move two hundred meters, except for how to operate all controls, steering wheel, levers and console, anyone think it could be confused with one of those (Fabia and Polo, without going further), touch the steering wheel, shift lever ... which, of course, is something to greet.
Really feeling is more car than it really is, but ride comfort and reactions are honors in this segment.
As for the engines, then I'll say with small three-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines 1.25 (a displacement Ford Fiesta reminiscent of those of 10 years ago ...) and potencies in the low range market (75 85-100CV -90CV in diesel and gasoline ...) as sufficiently fulfilled its mission of urban vehicle, with enough joy in truth, especially gasoline.
However, the market is very tight, in terms of quality and especially price wise. From my point of view, which takes upper hand at the moment, it is either the cheapest or the offering more for less ... or in the worst case, more for the same.
And that's where the problem may be this i20, in a sector with many competitors, can not fail to have something others if they have, because they´ll take customer with them ... the damn anti-collision radar, rearview camera , access and keyless start ... and I'm running in daily use and in the purely urban areas ... and I know it is fine trunk, and certainly consumption ... but personally, I prefer that my car's measures 5 cm more, have more luggage and have a reversing camera, park it infinitely easier than a 5cm shorter one ... and for the same price.
And no, I have not forgotten the 5 year warranty with which I started the post. An argument, of course fantastic, it shows you have confidence in your product, but for someone to enjoy (the collateral) before you have to convince them to buy your product ...
