EL ABUELO CUMPLE 16... BMW X5 2015

    Aunque en un principio puedan parecer pocos, el BMW X5 de primera generación (E53) , hace ya 16 años que se dio a conocer.

    Hoy os podré contar mis impresiones de la nueva generación (F15) que ha jubilado a la anterior, la segunda, denominada internamente como E70.

    Although at first may seem few, first generation BMW X5 (E53), its 16 years since it was unveiled.

Se trata de un modelo completamente nuevo, y se nota. / Completely new car, and so it feels.

    Realmente no han sido más que primeras impresiones pues de la generación anterior tengo referencia muy cercana y lo conduzco con relativa frecuencia. Los cambios parecen pocos, pero quizás ahí se encuentre el buen trabajo realizado, pues dudo mucho que comparta alguna pieza con su antecesor, es decir, un coche, completamente nuevo, que a primera vista, ni se nota.

    Esta sensación desaparece nada más sentarse a sus mandos, que maravilla de coche, realmente me siento muy a gusto con BMW, parece que "encajemos". Es como cuando te pruebas una prenda de ropa y no tienes que hacerle ningún arreglo, como un guante... y más todavía en cuanto se pone en movimiento. No puedo dejar de pensar en modelos más de mi gusto, será casi una extensión de mi cuerpo...

    And they´ve been really first impressions, because I have very close experience with previous gen. Changes may seem few, but perhaps the good work is precisely there , as I doubt it shares a single piece with its predecessor.A completely new car, which at first sight, is not even noticed.

    This feeling inmediatly disappears as you take seat. What a carit is, I really feel very comfortable with BMW, it seems that "we fit". It's like when you try on a suit and do not have to make any arrangement, like a glove ... and even more so as it sets in motion. I can not stop thinking about my tasty models, will be almost an extension of my body ...

   La realidad es que un porcentaje altísimo de los compradores no sólo de este X5, sino de todos los denominados SUV, lo hacen por esa sensación de "dominio" de la carretera que les da la impresión que se tiene desde arriba. Dudo que muchos hayan pisado nieve a más de 1.500 metros de altitud o barro a mas de 30 cm de profundidad... pero reconozco que se viaja bien en ellos... aunque no mejor que en un serie 5 touring equivalente...

    The reality is that a high percentage of buyers not only of the X5, but of all the so-called SUVs, do it for that feeling of "domination" of the road that gives the impression you get from above. I doubt that many have trodden snow over 1,500 meters or mud more than 30 cm deep ... but I reckon that you travel quite well in them ... but not better than in a equivalent 5 series touring  ...

Realmente muy parecido al anterior... pero solo eso. / Really very similiar to its predecessor, but only that.

    ¿Con respecto a sus rivales?, puedo hablar de unos cuantos, Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Vw Touareg, Range Sport (apenas un paseo) y Volvo XC90 (de momento, solo estático...) 

    Pues bien, lo lógico sería que los últimos en llegar le fueran cogiendo el puesto al lider, pero lo cierto es que en cuestión de ventas, no está nada escrito, y no siempre el mejor es el que más se vende... que este caso es el X5. Me faltaría por probar el Mercedes, pero quizás el X5 me parece el más equilibrado. Al Volvo quizás le falte motor, al VW caché, al Range le sobra precio, y al Cayenne deportividad... el Q7 sigue pareciendo pesado...

    And  against its  rivals ? I can mention a few, Q7, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg, Range Sport (just a walk around) and Volvo XC90 (only static ...)

     Well, it would be logical latecomers will be taking place to the leader, but the fact is that in terms of sales, nothing is written, and not always is the best-selling the best car... this X5 is the case. I need to testdrive the Mercedes, but perhaps the X5 seems the most balanced. Perhaps the Volvo needs more power, VW cache, the Range is pricey, and the Cayenne sporty ... the Q7 still seems heavy ...
